currently doing some pig hunting at Vandenberg AFB in California.... haven't seen any pigs yet, but I'm definitely enjoying the fresh air, sunshine, and exercise !!

Just in case a pig should wander into my gunsights I brought along a SOG Bowie, SOG Tigershark, and SOG Tech II (the old old old model of Tech II).

Cheers,

Carl

That's it Carl, bring a box of knives to a gun fight... ;)
I need to get me another S1 Bowie...

Hey Carl, sounds like a fun trip. Which guns did you bring this time? Must be nice to have so much free time. Last time we talked you were heading out for some fun, and that was only a few weeks ago. LOL!!

Stay Safe,

Heber

P.S. Where's the modified Bowie with the custom sheath?

Reminds me of Predator I, when the boar gets into the camp and one of the guys enguages in CQC with it and takes it out with his ka-bar(assuming).

toopercent,

my hunting mentor and I are planning an Australian piggie death adventure wherein he fully intends to use his SOG Recon Bowie to murder the suspecting creature.

my plans are to watch from a very safe distance.

Cheers,

Carl

You just HAVE to keep us in the loop about this hunt! Somebody is going to seriously take on a 250+ pound pig with a 7" knife?

Somehow I got the idea a person needed a bigger knife than that. I know Larry Harley's killed a bunch of swine with a knife and his hawg hunt page talks about 9 1/2 inch blade, probably his massive "battle bowie".

Sir Galant is right. Since you're going to be watching from a safe distance, you've gotta take pics. Better still, you have the makings for an incredible YouTube vid!!

btw. The actor who knifes the boar in Predator was Bill Duke who played "Mac Eliot". He used a Jack Crain Life Support Hunter-model survival Knife (the one at the bottom of the photo).

I won the eternal gratitude of a serious Predator movie-buff by digging the info up for him back in the early 90s.

we are not crazy... we are Trained Professionals !!

My pal is a retired Navy helo pilot, with plenty of stick time in fixed wing.
I am a retired Navy Seabee.

and THAT explains everything: two kids going out and having fun, with over 40 combined years in the military with no adult supervision.

What could possibly be safer ??

Cheers,

Carl

sheesh, you guys make it sound like we're gonna drive on the freeways in Smell-A or something exceptionally dangerous like that.....

Cheers,

Carl
