Hey all, I just thought I would share with you guys one of my new favorite sandwiches. It has brown sugar black pepper bacon, cheddar and turkey.
First start out by preheating the oven to 400F
Then I lined two cookie sheets with tin foil so its easier to clean up when done.
Next I took my bacon and placed them on the sheets.
I like the thick cut hickory smoked kind but you can use whatever is your favorite.
Then you sprinkle some brown sugar and fresh ground black pepper on the bacon.
By this time the oven should be just about done heating up. Once it is, stick the bacon in for around 20 min. Go longer if you like it crispy. I like mine nice and chewy so 20 seems to work well. If you are using thinner cuts it may be less time so keep an eye on it. This is the hardest part because you have to wait 20min smelling it cook
After the 20 min pull it out, remove the bacon from the sheets and set to cool on some paper towels. Be careful not to dab the bacon too much because you will end up dabbing off the caramelized brown sugar and pepper.
Next I take some fresh sandwich rolls and build the sandwich with some cheddar a few pieces of bacon and some turkey slices from the deli.
Then enjoy
Oh and don't forget to wash up after.
