Hey all, I just thought I would share with you guys one of my new favorite sandwiches. It has brown sugar black pepper bacon, cheddar and turkey.

First start out by preheating the oven to 400F

Then I lined two cookie sheets with tin foil so its easier to clean up when done.

Next I took my bacon and placed them on the sheets.

I like the thick cut hickory smoked kind but you can use whatever is your favorite.

Then you sprinkle some brown sugar and fresh ground black pepper on the bacon.

By this time the oven should be just about done heating up. Once it is, stick the bacon in for around 20 min. Go longer if you like it crispy. I like mine nice and chewy so 20 seems to work well. If you are using thinner cuts it may be less time so keep an eye on it. This is the hardest part because you have to wait 20min smelling it cook :D

After the 20 min pull it out, remove the bacon from the sheets and set to cool on some paper towels. Be careful not to dab the bacon too much because you will end up dabbing off the caramelized brown sugar and pepper.

Next I take some fresh sandwich rolls and build the sandwich with some cheddar a few pieces of bacon and some turkey slices from the deli.

Then enjoy :D

Oh and don't forget to wash up after.

I may have to break down and try baked bacon one of these days.

Thanks guys. It was mighty tasty!

You really should. I like to cook it this way because I can guarantee they all are nice and chewy, I tend to overcook them when I pan fry bacon.

Mmmm. Bacon....and a bk15. Double goodness. My 15 lives in the kitchen. Great knife.

I use wire cookie racks to cook my bacon in the oven. Gets them evenly cooked and less greasy. That sandwich looks great. Next batch of bacon i cook will have brown sugar and pepper on it.

OP, that looks like one scrum-diddily-umptious sammich. I may have to check something similar out. Maybe make a quick mayo for the sandwich and you got yourself a winner! Oh, and check out getting a couple cooling racks to put into the pans to get the bacon out of the grease, you could probably get a couple on amazon for CHEAP! Might even be able to get that 20 minutes down to 15-17 :-P

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of baked bacon. It might be cause the only times I've really had it, it was turkey bacon. That just isn't good eats.

Golly that looks delicious. why cant we get more threads like that around here?? :D
There have been a LOT of them. Just search for Bacon or Food threads. Check out Biscuit's biscuit thread!

Thanks guys, glad you think it look tasty.

That's a damn good idea. Never even crossed my mind to use those. I hate loosing some of that sugar pepper that melts on top from dabbing the drippings off :p
