Usually I only find bills in my mailbox, but today was one of those rare days when there was something in the post that I actually wanted. Two new knives that I didn't even know existed before joining this forum.
The first is a Ka Bar Dozier - a lot of knife for a little money. It has a 3" modified spear point blade of AUS-8 with a Zytel handle. The whole package comes in at just 2.2oz.
It's comfortable in my hand and feels solid. I've had good results with AUS-8 in the past and I like the shape of the blade on this knife. The pocket clip is set for tip up carry only but is reversible for either right or left hand carry. The thumb stud is also reversible. I think I'm going to like this knife. It looks like it will be suitable for a wide range of tasks.
The second knife is the Benchmade 530. It has a 3.25" spear point blade of 154CM and weighs just 1.88oz. This knife has a lot of blade for such little weight. It's very thin and disappears in the pocket. Due to the extreme light weight it feels less substantial than the Dozier but there's no blade play and I think it is plenty strong for any normal tasks.
These knives are perfect I'll never need another knife....until maybe next month.
What do you folks think about the Benchmade HK14205?
