Some people like 4inch knives, while others may prefer the biggies like bowies. Right now attached to my belt is a 2incher!

It is so cute, I just can't bear to be away from it. Small knives are "less threatening", so to speak. The fact that it cuts just as well like its bigger brothers speaks volumes for its size.

Lately, I have taken a liking to small knives, even though I have not lost my affection for the larger ones.

Who likes the smallies, put up your hands!

I like the small knives too. The Benchmade 705 (3 in blade) is my current favorite. It's got that cool Axis Lock too. It does just about everything I need it to do for an EDC. When I'm not carrying my 705, I have my 710HS clipped to my pocket. I'm really looking forward to getting a BM Forum Knife705 BC1 with M2 steel. It will have carbon fiber scales.

Hopefully the forum knife will be available by year end.

Me and my Dozier Razorback 2 3/4" (as small as I own) have had a thing going for about 2 months now, can't seem to keep my hands off her. My Sebenza is getting jealous.

Sorry, forgot to post pic the first time around. I was preoccupied fondling the knife in reverse grip.

Would like to see a pic of the Meerkat Shmacky [will look for it on the internet/oops, never mind, found it already] and I agree Donald, the Pukuni is another I am interested in. In the urban environment have begun to appreciate a well made, super sharp, well balanced, secure grip, swift and quickly deployed combined with easy hide out, knife that won't scare sheeple. The Dozier D2 and his grind are the best I have used so far.

This another one I am attempting to order right now.

my two favorites are blackwood small game and dozier straight personal.I find smaller or medium size knifes fill all my needs.

My current favorite is the Spyderco Lum, which is around 3". But my Meerkat has been coming to work with me recently. Easily the best 2" folder I've used. If the steel and scales on the Meerkat aren't fancy enough for you (and if you're willing to pass on the Phantom Lock, which would be crazy), go for the Navigator in VG-10 and Almite.

I seem to like all knives, small ones included. I had a grin on my face for a week after I received my Umfaan! What a great little knife. The Mini-Talon is very useful--and about as big as I want to carry around my neck. Makes a great little paring knife. I also find the small Boye Basic to be suprisingly useful, and was mentioned on www.equipped.com . As a youth I often had a small pen knife on me, and sometimes I still do.

Since the Pikuni (Simonich custom or the one by Rekat) is a three finger knife I'll lump that in with the small category, even though it does have a three inch blade. Speaking of the Rekat production version, and remembering that most of my knife uses are of the mundane variety, I have been fond of clipping it to my belt lately when I mow the lawn. It slides on with its D clip (or whatever you want to call that, and lays very flat against my body, so it does not get in the way.

In fact, I have been thinking of espousing this knife in the "what knife would be good in the military?" type threads. Generally, one would already be loaded down, and might not want to carry something bigger, or if a pilot, not be able to fit anything bigger. This knife is big enough to be useful in most circumstances, and would be a good supplement to a multitool. The D2 enhanced steel gets very sharp and from what I read, is very rust resistant.
