It has been raining off and on here all day. Its cold and grey.
A lot of people would stay home but a day like this makes me want to get outside and do something. I went for a short hike to a small lake I recently found to have Bass. Last time I was there I saw Bass all over the place spawning but they were too busy getting freaky to eat anything. I saw so many good sized bass I have been excited to come back after spawn.
Here is a picture of a bass spawning the last time I was there, about 3 weeks ago.
So I head back there tonight. Walking in you cross 2 pedestrian bridges. The first one had a family of Geese passing under it,I grabbed a few pics of them.
More walking and I get to the 2nd river and bridge I need to cross.
At the lake, that's where I'm headed. The beaver house on the far side.
Found a neat rock to grab a few pictures on the way around.
I brought a few easy things to make a cold night more enjoyable. Cant have fires outside of the provided grills and fire rings at this lake so I brought a can of sterno.
This looks like a good spot for the sterno.
It lights on the first scrape of a firesteel.
While the water heats I toss a spinnerbait some more catching my only bass of the trip.
Time for some tea.
Had a multi tool in my pack, opening the tuna like this was faster...and more fun.
I hope you enjoyed my pictures.
