Well, i did it again.

watching all these great giveaways folks on these forums i decided to do another (albeit local) giveaway. my assistant manager has mentioned on a couple of occasions that he needed to get him a pocket knife. he has already borrowed my texas jack once or twice. So i got to thinking, i have in my truck a basically new victorinox tinker. i edc'd it for about a week and it has sat in my truck ever since.

so i ran out to my truck and grabbed it. He seemed very happy to receive it and said he would make it a part of his everday carry.
so in my own little way, i feel like i contributed to the spirit of these forums :D:thumbup:

i am spreading the pocketknife love around my work place :p

ps
this keyboard at work SUCKS, so forgive any grammer/spelling/punctuation errors

Sure, blame it on the keyboard :P

Very nice gesture for sure. I gave one of my helpers last week a buck stockman that I bought and fixed. I actually like giving them away in person. The look on his face was priceless when he tried to hand it back and I scoffed at him....why you handing me your knife? I already have one ;)

Keep it up my man, love reading about the generosity of others!

Good job, the tinker is a nice one to have.

And Jeff, I love this line: "why you handing me your knife? I already have one"!

Very good gesture! It's great to give away something. I always feel better when I pay it forward.

Carl.

Nicely done! It's fun to run across someone who wants a nice pocket knife, and then give them one. :)

Wonderful gesture! I outta get some suitable knives for my buddies in college; they have finally seen the usefulness of a pocket knife after being around me for so many years.

Glad to see the generosity spread outside the confines of this sub-forum!

He had borrowed mine the day before. I happen to notice the buck looking for something else in my garagae(cause that necer happens lol) that evening. Figured perfect knife for him, large stockman. Seen him yesterday and asked how he liked it, he could not have pulled it from his pocket fast enough to show me his knife. Another +1 on the converts :D

Nice gesture :) I´m sure, the Vic will serve him well for years.

That´s the spirit of the forums :)

Thanks for sharing this nice story!

I have made some TL-29 mods for a few guys at work, and in general have given out several other knives.

It's fun to spread the knife bug!

That is awesome! You did a good thing, and you know its a knife he can trust. My friends usually come to me to help them find a knife because they know that I know what is good and reliable and what isnt worth their money.

One of my first knives after finding the forums was a Spyderco Tenacious that I bought to see if I would like the overall feel of a Spyderco knife and the Spyderhole. I loved it but after carrying it for less than a week I upgraded to a Zulu, and I boxed up the Tenacious and started making plans. I have a nephew and three nieces, they are my wifes sisters kids. My nephew is just getting into knives and is a boyscout and really into the outdoors, and he just joined JROTC, so Im very proud of him and wanted to show him that. So I had my wife call her sister (they live on the other side of the country) and make sure it was okay, which it was because they are all at least a little into knives. So Im going to send him the Spyderco Tenacious, and I bought him some survival tools, survival whistle w/ compass, thermoteter, led light, magnifying glass for fire starting, signal mirror.. and a wire finger saw, emergency blanket, magnesium striker, a card sized multi tool?? looks cool and it has a few little tools built into it, and ect. (his bday is coming up so he gets more), we bought his sisters all their own knives in the colors they like along with a survival whistle with a compass, water proof container for matches or whatever, small striker, ect. and even bought their mom and dad a knife.. their dads knife is cool, he was in the army in the 82nd airborne so I found a knife that has an airborne symbol on it, and one that says 82nd airborne with their units symbol. We're still ordering and receiving everything, I think we only have like 2 or 3 knives to go. Everybody gets one except their dad is getting two. But I just think its cool to get my nephew a good knife that he will love and trust and enjoy, just like I do my knives. :D
