Hi guys and gals, as most know, I don't take on fixed blade sheath work, I leave that for my good friends that really enjoy that type of thing and just stick to folder sheaths. But a friend ordered some fixed blades from Bradford USA, really nice stuff with kydex sheaths. He got two for him and gifted me one, ya gotta like friends like that right! The Tek Lok clips that he got from them are really nice too, but I decided to try my hand at making a simple strap thingy to hold the sheath so you could carry it either for cross draw or worn vertical on my right side.

Now, for you folks this is flat out simple and have made tons, I've not ;) so I winged it so to speak, made it with a snap so you can unsnap it to remove it quickly if you need to and put it back on without having to undo your belt, seems handy...so far :)

Here's a couple photos of one on the Guardian 5 sheath;

and here's what the knife looks like, it has what he calls his Nimbus blade finish, the steel is CPM3v tough stuff and machined G10 scales, quite grippy!

That's a cool idea Gary .
Is there a chance you could do a contortionist act and take a pic while wearing it ?
Nice knife

Thanks Ken, on these the belt loop could probably be shortened up but it also allows for some moving if need be, again, first attempt ;)

and works well for a cross draw, IF you have the stomach for it ;) right now...I don't so I won't, but here you can see that you can wear the knife tilted while the strap keeps it secured and allows you to draw the knife quickly.

As always, nice work Gary.

Too kind sir! but thanks! :)

Great solution as usual! :D

Nifty little fixed blade as well! I want one now. Now to save up.......

Nice work!
I think I've seen someone putting the screw through the male part of the snap... or was it only in my head...

P.S.
You sir are evil! As if I needed to look for another small knife... ;)

Gary, that is awesome. I have been looking for something like this for a little while. It's a nice adapter that allows you to use all of the Kydex we already own and adds a great deal more concealability to the OWB style using the on board tek lok. That's fine in the wilderness, but in Philadelphia is a problem. Great idea. It's very similar to the IWB gun holster design. Sign me up for one or two once you nail down the length for a 1.5 inch belt!!!

Thanks guys, and elof_alv that was the first thing I tried when making these, to see if the screw would fit down into the snap :) but I'd have to grind down the edges of the screw head in order for it to fit into that and since I was making it for my friend's sheaths I didn't want to mess up his screws incase he changes his mind later and needed the screws for the tek lok.

And it is a really nice knife, here is a link to a review on this particular model Brad of Bradford USA knives is a Bladeforums maker on the boards, although he's only been at this for a short time, he has some nice designs going there, started with a 3" blade and now has 4, 5 and 6" bladed versions.

And Inspector, you can email me at chiseledge@yahoo.com about one or two of these straps sir

Gary, I hope I'm not stepping on your thread but I do offer the same type attachment in kydex and I know you don't do kydex. Mine works the same way and can swivel as well if needed. I have a 1-1/2" model and a 2" model if needed.

And, ditto what others have said about your pics and reviews. Dangit, now I need to get another Bradford! Still loving the Gatsby that you made me buy and glad I got one before they were sold out.:D

Nice Ronnie and more than welcome to add to this thread! And yes, ya should grab one of those knives before they get gone, maybe Brad could sell you one less the sheath at a better price since you can make your own home for it? Worth the question I think :)

And clean work there sir, looks great!

edited to say, "thanks Dave we were typing at the same time :) "

Very cool! I really like the idea behind the adapter.
The bradford Guardian 3 Wharnie is very high on my wishlist.

Thanks and yes that Guardian 3 Wharnie is nice, love the one I have, I carry that as a neck knife...every day, inside the shirt at work, outside the shirt at home. from that link to the Guardian 5's review is a link on the first post to the Guardian 3's reviews and photos, worth a looksee :)

The spacer part from the Tek Lok makes it stand out a little from the side of the sheath, allowing it to pivot easier. Maybe I should go with a ball bearing system, or maybe bronze washers? ....just kidding of course!

I forgot one important fact here, while the knives are made by Bradford USA, Brad has David Brown making his kydex sheaths, David is also a Maker/Service provider here on Bladeforums, nice job on all of those sheaths, thanks David!

Very nice addition Gary.
And thank you for the kind words.

The creativity around here is just outstanding. Find a problem, fix it.

I wish I could try carrying like that, but fixed blades can't be concealed here and I don't tuck my shirts. Rats.

Thanks sir and David you're most welcome sorry I had forgot to mention ya!!

Anthony, you can always wear it like that around the shop, just not out and about in town is all :)

By any chance did you make anymore of these straps? I would be interested in purchasing one or two of them depending on price.
