These are blades that I started forging on Oct. 4th. I've used a number of different steels in these. One I've never tried before since its pretty uncommon, it being 9160. Pretty much the same as 5160 but it has no crome. Think its called Studabaker leaf spring. There's 5160, 1065, 1084, 1084/95, 52100, and saw steel in this batch. I've even put one of my world famous jigsaw puzzle blades in there. The large bowie I forged this morning. My arm is good and sore so its time to stop forging and finish some knives....

Dang, Ray! That's some serious forging! And some mighty fine work, too. I can see how your arm is sore, fella. Are your ears still ringing, too? you can always spot a blacksmith. He has one arm a foot longer than another one, he is hard of hearing, and he can snort fire when he wants to. AND,he's the most popular guy in town. EDITED TO ADD,Unless you cook skunks on your forge, like some individuals do, namely IG! Courtsy keeps me from mentioning his name.

So far there are no skunks in or around my forge. There is a mole that will mound up in my shop everyone in awhile. I'll be posting a couple knives out of this batch later today.....

Saw some of your work at the Tulsa gun show this weekend, it was at the Vintage Knives booth. All I can say is "WOW!":D I love the Bowie/Hawk sets, but they're too pretty too play with.
