In your opinion; best knife

It's interesting to see how people rate the knives they own, so, in the interest of discussion, what knife have you owned/used that you consider the best, and why?

For me, mine has been a Spyderco Manix 2. The grip/blade ratio, the sturdiness of the lock and the ease of use with either hand combined with an excellent blade shape and a good steel are what make me keep coming back to this knife.

Based on how regularly I use and depend on it... Victorinox Spartan. It serves just about every day and has never failed me. Plus it looks attractive and there is something about the shape of the spear point blade that I enjoy. To top it off, it is an incredible value for a knife that I'll be able to use in almost any situation for the rest of my life.

However... I love my Becker BK2. I really like using that knife and it is up for any challenge I can throw at it. Unfortunately, I don't get to use if very often. It's purely a camping knife. I really admire its ability to tackle anything. It is a knife that is designed to be repeatedly abused and still handle the finer jobs. Truly a "one knife" and a "jack of all trades."

im in love with my zt 0200 I got it last week good ergos I like the blade shape and It just works for me!

Of course this is a really subjective thing. I tend to favor pocket-friendly, thinner/lighter options and don't love frame locks, so you know where I'm coming from.

I have more expensive knives, but I'd have to say one of these three Benchmade knives would be my choice based on blade length:

Small: BM 707
Medium: BM 940
Large: BM 710

I love non-assisted flippers and the Southard is growing on me. I have a PM2 and don't think that sucks either, but IMO you can't go wrong with those three Benchmades. I find it hard to imagine ever not owning a 940, for example.

The ZT 0560 and the Benchmade 710. I love the ergonomics on both of these knives, and the flipper on the 0560 is addictive.

Best knife for the money though, Kershaw Crown.

I think the Victorinox classic may be up there.

I don't know how many of these I've given away to non knife nuts who needed a decent knife to cut with. They are always appreciated. They just may be the gateway drug to carrying a knife for the masses. Victorinox makes more of these little things every year than Benchmade and Spyderco combined. It is the most mass produced pocket knife in the world, from the biggest knife company in the world.

Carl.

benchmade 940, everything about it is perfect in my eyes. The speed, smoothness, ease of opening/closing, outstanding piercing ability due to the fact that the edge is basically a triangle, my only complaint about it is that it feels a bit thin when closing it.
