  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Inability to send a private message

I am logged in. When I clicked on Start a New Thread, the system recognized me, listed my handle next to "Logged in user."

I just attempted to send a private message to a forumite. I clicked on his profile, then the send private message. Was told I wasn't logged in. It may have said I don't have authorization also.

This makes me realize that one might have to add a person to one's "buddy list" before a private message is possible. If so, then no problem. But, if not, then the system is screwed up on this.

Thanks,

I just sent a test private message to you, Bugs, and it seemed to work. My guess is your recipient probably has private messages disabled in his options -- this software seems to give the same error message whenever you try to do anything you're not authorized to do, saying you're either not logged in or you're not authorized to do that.

Try sending a private message to me -- I have it enabled in my options. I haven't gotten any yet ... I've been assuming that's because nobody's sent any, but who knows....

Private messaging has been disabled for Basic Members. It will be enabled for Premium and Gold Members.
