I got a call from Derrick at knives ship free and my Bravo 1 that I ordered in bighorn sheep is in! The scales are full length and without bolsters. I'll post pics Asap, I haven't seen it but Derrick said it came out gteat.
I came home today from work and my Bravo 1 was waiting there. All I can say is wow wow wow. I'l post some pics tomorrow. And yes bang for the buck is a huge under statement. For about the price of a CRK Shadow 4 I was able to get able to score this puppy. I'm thinking that Derrick from Knives ship free must have made a mistake. I'll have to call him to confirm. I know price is relative but to get such a cool blade for what I paid (assuming of couse it wasn't a mistake) is too good to be true. I'd take the pics now but it's 11:30 PM and I'd like to get some sleep.. OK I tried to take some pics and I can't figure how to get the pictures small enough to post so now I'm just pissed off. I'll figure it out in the morning but take my word it is sweet.
My Bravo-1 is inbound as well. Black Micarta scales, solid pins and no bolster. I'm looking forward to playing with one. I've handled them before but never had the chance to put it through its paces.
Ken:
I think you'll really like this knife. IMO it's a whole lotta knife for the money. Busse, Strider and maybe even the CRK one piece line may be ultimately stronger, the Bravo has a seriously thick piece of A2 that looks like it could stand a whole heap of abuse, feels great in the hand and looks cool too.
All this for half the price of a similar Strider or Busse and three quarters the price of a CRK. HMMM...I hope I'm not just dreaming.
Scott--You got a great deal on that knife. Bark River is making VERY few of them without the bolster. That knife was around my place for a few days--you might have noticed a little drool on it!
