Largest and most complicated piece yet for him. I believe the handle is made with about 42 individual parts or there abouts. I should have it Wed or so. Blade is a 5 bar with a length of just under 18" and OAL about 24" Lot's of damascus, so this one's one hefty some bitch! here's a few shots he sent me. He worked on this one 2 months +.............MT

Very impressive. Not my cup of T, but what a piece of craftmanship! Like I said, impressive...

Kind regards,

Jos

Impressive and creative.
How did the design come to be?
Did you give him an idea, a drawing or something?
Or did he come up with it on his own.
Obviously, a lot of thought and planning went into both it's design and execution.

Oh man, that one does look complicated, wow. Congrats to you and the maker! I'd love to see more of that sheath, if you get the chance to shoot more pics :)

 Amazing piece of work! It seems no detail has been overlooked!

Lorien took the words right out of my mouth. The explosion pic just about made my head explode. Wow.

Mike, this one goes well with SpaceCowboy and Earth. Way to go man:thumbup::cool:

Kevin, Mike can for sure speak for himself :D;) but let me give some additional info upfront. The last year or so Andre is very much into creating knives that are obviously out of the box and inspired by science fiction (series/movies). If you go to his website http://www.northland.nu/ you can see some great examples like Cyborg, SpaceCowboy and Earth.

I really appreciate the immense amount of talent that went into making that sword. I love the blade, but don't find the handle appealing. I know it's a sci-fi theme, but I guess it's just not my kind of piece.

Thanks Marcel. I didn't know Andre's designs had started leaning that way. Before looking at his website, I thought that's definitely not a design that would just pop into someone's head but more one developed over time.

Some great pieces depicted on his site. I'm surprised that some are actually available for purchase.

Thank's all! Like Marcel said, there was a point where I hinted he has so much vision that he should start to explore it. Boy did he!!!!! No more dainty flower's and such. Much more of an agressive approach. And yes he dig's Sci-Fi. Put two and two together and this is the result. When he sent me the pic of all the part's unassembled, he asked me if it was a puzzle or a knife? Now we all know!!!!!!!!!!!

Simply Amazing! Mike you really should commission a website for your collection.
