So I'm pretty excited about my recent order, a Bk24 in D2 is on its way. At first it was a tough decision between the D2 or the San Mai II but I finally reached a conclusion. Add to that the black and orange scales plus a clip, and my plan is to race home from work each day to inspect the mailbox. All I have to do now is wait patiently for T-K-C to release their G10 scale option for the 14/24s and i'll be golden. In the mean time in going to put this non-1095-Becker to work.

You will be real happy with the 24! Ka-bar did a great job with the D2. something to think about while you are at work, My BK15 just got here 15 min ago.:D

I too ordered one of these this week. This will be my first D2 knife. I am glad to hear that they a good job with it, I will put it through it' paces to see how well it retains it's edge.

I'll try an get some pics of it in action up here when it arrives. This will be my first fixed blade in D2.

That's what I ordered as well, the zytel kit with the black and orange sets. I'm thinking I'm going to use the black as well.

I just realized this thread is worthless. Without:

I've been lurking to help decide which would be my first Becker. I took delivery of a BK24 a few days ago. Pics to come soon. Very, very pleased with it. I'm thinking I need a 14 and 16 to go with it.

Nice combo, that's what I've done with every Becker I've owned to date, stripped the paint off asap. I usually follow up with boiled vinegar bath for patina/protection. This D2 is gonna stay all natural though and earn it's the old fashion way.

^^^^^
All of mine are stripped and patina'd. I used "Kleen Strip"aerosoll for the first time yesterday on a new BK15, and have to say it is the best I have ever used.

Its here! I got home late so there was no time to take it out outside and put it through the rigors, instead I toyed around with it indoors.

Just ordered my first knife, ever, I too have been lurking around forums, seeing which knife would be best for my first purchase. After 3 weeks I just went to Tomars and ordered a BK9...I'm so pumped!!!

Congrats! They are very solid knives, and exceptional quality for the price!

Edit: Oh and welcome to the forums btw, with that as your first purchase I'm sure you'll fit right in here.
