So my fiance has offered to purchase a knife for my for my birthday (awesome, right?) which is coming up. We never go too crazy on each others birthdays, so she said "Pick something out around $100-$130."

Now, normally not a tough choice, I do have plenty I'm thinking of getting, such as the ZT 0200, but what do you guys think would be a great knife? I figured I could lean on your experience and see if maybe someone has something that may have slipped past my radar.

Knives I currently have for use:

Kershaw Blur s30v, Speedform 2 Elmax, Brawler, (incoming) Spydie Para 2, and BM 581 Barrage. As some of you know I'm still relatively new to actually "collecting". I definitely have knife envy from some of the amazing collections you guys have.

I clearly (like most) have a pretty large "wish list" that I plan on purchasing. But I feel that list is more for me to get. If that makes sense? Lay some knives on me, friends.

What is your preferred size? Any blade shape that appeals or doesn't? Do you regularly prefer beefy knives or does it not matter?
Do you just want something that will handle the tasks you ask of it and work well for all around EDC? You seem to like more pocket tank types.

Really, I'm down for anything. I currently use my Speedform 2 as my EDC, until my Para2 comes in. I do like pocket tanks, which is why I was considering the Z0200. As I told ya, large hands and all lol. Smaller knives tend to be a little difficult to get good grip for me personally. However, anything goes, I'm just always surprised by the knives people suggest because it led me to my Speedform 2 Elmax (which I love). Thinking maybe I could find another gem from the great community here.

Try something Japanese. Mcusta is a good brand to look at.

Or have her buy something less expensive, and tell her to use the left over money at Victoria's Secret. Potentially another win-win situation.

I have been eyeing the Nobunaga and Kasumi. As far as Victoria Secret go, I spend a good $400-$500 a year there already. There's plenty of win. Haha!

You should try the Spyderco Gayle Bradley. You can find it in that price range if you look. I absolutely love mine. It's takes and holds a great edge, is tough, and looks nice. The CPM M4 steel is fantastic in my opinion, but it isn't stainless. However, a little care seems to prevent any rust issues.

I'm fortunate enough to be in a state with nearly 0% humidity year round. I need to get some blade oil regardless just for proper maintenance, just haven't picked any out yet to get.

All you really need is some mineral oil...I put that on mine every so often and it doesn't even patina. I've even taken it down to the coast.

581 Barrage. I love that knife.

I absolutely love it. It's incredibly solid.

I'm thinking of taking the advice of getting a custom knife. As of right now I don't own a single one, but from my understanding most (besides fixed blades) are pretty expensive. For good reason as well. It's someone pouring themselves into their creation which I find to be absolutely wonderful.

Some must haves in your range IMO:

Benchmade Griptilian
Benchmade 15020 Bone Collector
Spyderco Manix 2
Spyderco Manix 2 XL
