Been a few of Kevin's pieces posted lately, here's one I should have this week. I love when the mailperson comes - on time - and bearing "gifts". Kevin packaged it in a 4" PVC tube for shipping which I thought was a great idea. Anyways, here's the specs I promised.

11.5" of badness - O1/L6 composite damascus - 16.5" overall
African Blackwood with sterling silver rope ferrules, twist pattern damascus fittings

WOW   Incredible workmanship!!!
Thank you, Mr. Cashen, thank you

You can see it a little better this way.

Michael - That's a beauty! I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.

I have a similar piece, not as fancy, that I like a lot. Sheath is also similar - perfect for a secure belt carry. As you can see from the photo, mine gets used a fair amount (for 'fire mitigation' work on some mountain acreage here in Colorado). It's one of my better 'choppers' - tough as heck, keeps it's edge and handles well. Gloves are a must since the handle doesn't allow for a lanyard. The design is different but Kevin understands better than most what works when it comes to swinging a big blade!

Updated the original post.

A little background:

Kevin made a similar piece last July for the Mid-America Expo/Hammer-In in Troy, Ohio.
He made it out of Damascus specifically for a cutting demo to prove it cuts as well as any carbon blade.
After numerous cuts to 2x4's, aluminum cans, water bottles, cigarette papers, business cards and rope - the knife came out a winner!

This piece was made from the same billet of steel as the demo knife with the added bonus of the sterling silver spacers.
