Incomming First Kershaw

Just ordered a all black shallot ......my first Kershaw read alot of good things about it, as with all kershaw knives.....although i searched all 77 pages and only found a handfull of threads about it, I thought it would be more popular....pics welcomed and encouraged...... maybe some links to a review or two that I have'nt already read...

Welcome Pablo! You're gonna love your new Shallot. I really liked mine before I gave it to a good Friend last week. I plan on replacing it with an all black model soon. Make sure to post a review with pics when your Shallot arrives.

Congrats on your first Kershaw! I am a big fan of the design of the Shallot, you made a great choice! I carried a custom version of it for a while (the custom version is called the Dead Sexy), and the shape of the handle felt great in the hand.

Good first Kershaw pablo, you'll enjoy it! I bought 2 when they first came out, and still have one. My son "borrowed" the other one!

Just for a little history, as commodore mentioned, Kershaw's variation is based on Ken's Dead Sexy...you really need to see this knife!

The knife in my avatar is Lee Williams' Iceman. It is the larger custom version of the Kershaw Ener-G, with a little bit of a different blade grind.

I'll have to research that one.....what are those inserts made out of, if they are inserts.....i'm loving the shape of the clip.....bet that thing is pricey?

The inserts in the top Dead Sexy are made of maroon micarta, the bottom knife is black G-10. Directly from Ken, that Dead Sexy was about $850-950, but on the secondary market, all of Ken's newer customs go for north of $2000.

The Shallot is a great knife. I think you'll llike yours. I call them the Leek big brother.
I'm waiting for the composite version comming out in the next couple months. Oh, yeah!!! :thumbup:
