I've recently been having problems getting a full page to load when browsing the forums. In a nutshell, it doesn't seem to be a problem with the page template. Headers, borders, links etc., are usually not a problem. Rather, posts are often skipped, or sometimes portions of two separate posts are merged into one. It's a problem that can be easy to miss as often times it's nothing more than loading an otherwise complete page that skips rather seamlessly from post #140 to post #142 (or maybe even #145, for that matter). Other times it's easier to spot as you may encounter one person's name and avatar merged with another forumites signature line from what should be a subsequent post. As long as you notice that the glitch has occurred, it usually requires nothing more than hitting the refresh button a couple of times to rectify.

Serious disclaimer: Be advised that I'm a Mac owner (relatively new G5) who uses Safari to view BFC, so it may a problem that's limited to the Apple world. Or it could just be a problem with my computer for that matter. But, whatever the problem, it's been occurring frequently enough now that I thought it worth bringing to your attention on the off chance that others are running into the same thing. I've tried to capture a couple of screenshots to illustrate, but unfortunately, you need to have the Safari browser loaded to view them. I would convert them to a .pdf file so you could see what I'm talking about, but I'm not too bright. Sorry. :o

Did you just recently download and install the "Pages Update?" That's where I think the problem lies. I've been thinking of posting to the Apple forum and ask them how to uninstall the bloody thing.... One thing that the "Pages Update" did fix, however, was the inactivity disconnections I'd been experiencing, like when writing a long post.

Those are my impressions, right now, anyway. At least it isn't only happening to you. I'll try getting a screen capture posted. ;)

I think it's a Safari thing, though...

Geo's screen captures are spot on. Well done. Although, as I mentioned in my original post, sometimes the missing info is much more difficult to spot, especially when just one or two complete posts are neatly missing from an otherwise complete page.

As with, I'd imagine, most Mac users, I have my computer set up to prompt me automatically every week with the newly available updates. In the eight months or so I've owned this computer, I've loaded every update that's been offered by Apple. So, although I don't specifically remember downloading that particular update, there's a very high probability it's on my machine. Looks like the problem may be isolated to the Apple world. Thanks for helping out, Geo.

Just got a brand new iMac a couple of weeks ago. Having the same problem as Bronco described. It's hit and miss. Sometimes I don't have the problem and sometimes I do.

Happens to me every so often, but not much. I'm also running Safari on a G4 Powerbook.
