Inconel 718

Not that I know about its use in a pattern weld, but wouldn't it be a bit soft? As I understand, pure nickel can get to around HRC55, but Inconel 718 is about HRC40. The other thing is that Inconel is used in industry precisely because it withstands high temperature. They use it to contain the molten salt used to heat treat steel. I am far from convinced that you could get it to weld to ferrous material in a forge without damaging the ferrous material.

The place that I got it from makes it for the aerospace industry I'm friends with the guy in charge of the place and he gave me 35 pounds of it I will have to get a list of everything else he has there too and if you're interested in trying some canisters just inform me
