Inconsistent Warnings?

I'm trying to figure out why I've received warnings for things that other people have done and have gotten away with, or things that I've done before and after receiving a warning for said action and received no further warnings for.

I have 5 infraction points for mistakingly posting a bass guitar thread in community discussion. One of my recent threads about rebevelling knives was posted in general knife discussion with my intention being to reach people who would never go to the toolshed to read about that kind of stuff, and a mod moved it. However, no infraction points were given to me.

Is it something that warrants infraction points or not?

Also, recently I was given 10 points for posting a goatse image in a thread with photos of naked women. I've never seen any rules posted for W&C and "the other forum" that said certain pornographic images are allowed and others are not.

Could I receive some clarification as to what is and isn't allowed, and what I will get in trouble for and what of mine will simply be moved to another forum? I know I'm not well-liked here, but I have been trying to avoid doing things to intentionally piss you guys off, so I just want to be fully aware of what I am allowed to do and what I'm not allowed to do. Sorry for the hassle.

You will find that infractions and warnings will be handled differently by different moderators. Most topics that get moved to the proper forum are not accompanied by infractions, but the Community moderator has gotten tired of warning people.

Common question. Simple answer.

Moderators are not omniscient. We catch a few and miss a few. Sometimes other members report a violation so we can get to that one, too.

If you think someone is wrong enough to deserve a warning or infraction, hit the triangle with an exclamation point and tell us.

The guitar thread absolutely did not belong in Community Center, period. The rebevelling thread at least has to do with knives, so you weren't given an infraction, but it was moved to where it belonged.

If everyone posted in the General Knife Discussion because that's where it would get the most exposure, why would we need the other forums? Because ... no post would last five minutes on the first page if everything went to the one & only forum.

I followed a couple of links and found an explanation by the Super Moderator who gotcha for it. Not much more I can add if you don't understand by now.

We do have psychic powers. We use them for important matters. Some people just aren't that important.

I just gave another read to the Community Forum rules. The published list of the specific topics that do belong there is very short.

After you get by the list of what is NOT OK and what is specifically approved, all other potential topics fall into the grey subjective area that may see the thread moved and the poster with a new infraction. The easy answer to the original poster, is just don't start a thread in Community .... Most of what you're here for anyway is to talk about knives, gadgets, and related topics ... right ...?

I have to confess that I've had a thread or two moved from Community in past years. I was redirected back to the rules and still didn't understand why those specific threads were moved. I was OK with what happened, but it is simpler to just not start threads there unless you're announcing your community quilting bee or the like ... :D

I know I'm not well-liked here,

Come on now, be alittle more self confident. Vivi you have added more input and given us all a good laugh or two during your time in BF, than many other members here.:)

Dang...I noticed that I've only given you 30 "points" (so far). I guess I'm going to have to step it up a notch.:D.:D.

So, at some point, were you trying to intentionally piss the mods and other forum members off with your previous posts?
