Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this listing?

This is a 1970's Schrade Old Timer Sheath Knife for auction. This knife is 9 5/8" overall with a 5 1/4" blade which is stamped with Schrade U.S.A. 165. This is an early Old Timer pattern stamp, as the "OT" isn't included, as it was in later U.S.A. produced Schrade Old Timer knives.

This knife features the Old Timer Bar style shield and a Genuine Leather Sheath. Please see the Supersize Photos.

This 1970's issue Schrade Walden Old Timer 165 Sheath Knife from ** ****'s Collection is in mint condition in the original issue Old Timer box reading The Old Timer Woodsman 165 OT on the end, and being offered at No Reserve. Thanks for your bids, we appreciate it.

Now, I am purposely not "outing" the seller in this case, mostly because he has likely just made an honest mistake, but mostly because this is a pristine knife and someone here will likely bid on it. The seller is one of the bigger dogs on the block, a lifelong player in the secondary knife market, and quite knowledgable about knives in general. However, I e-mailed the seller with the corrections of his description of this knife shortly after it listed, and so far, he has neither responded, nor changed the listing.

The knife itself appears to be genuine, and complete with all the accessories, packaging and papers, so it is prime to be a welcome addition to someone's collection, it just is not exactly as advertised. I am not as concerned about the eventual buyer being mislead as I am about the fact that erronious information is being given to collectors by someone who should know better, and in fact has been politely informed of the errors he has in his listing. I have posted the correct info on dating these here before.

Edit: I do not mean to imply that the seller is being dishonest, and he may well have just been preoccupied since my correction was sent. Many, many times incorrect information comes from a simple lack of research and knowledge, not a willful intent to mislead.

Several months ago,our respected forum 165 expert :D made this statement:
So far, the earliest serial number I have seen is #9,xxx. The first tangstamps were parallel to the blade on blade left with SCHRADE over WALDEN over 165. The serial number was imprinted on the left tang parallel to the guard.
Sometime after serial #18,xxx, the tangstamp was moved to blade right and then the serial numbers were discontinued. Later Ellenville blades all have the tangstamp on blade right and as far as I have seen, were not serialized. Interestingly, I have never seen the "OT designation added to the "165" on a tangstamp, but the Uncle Henry'd do have the "UH" designation added.

Codger,
I have four that have the same tangstamp and sheath as the one that Mr. Parker has in his ad,and I'm sure that you have a lot more than that.
I figured mine were made in the 80's
Still looking for a good,serialized Schrade-Walden with a box.

Codger,
This thread was posted just before the site went down and it apparently was forgotten during all the trauma.
So,what is the answer to your question "Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this listing?"

Yes, the seller should have known these details, that the 165OT never had the alpha suffix, always simply 165. It does however indicate the age..... 1967-1991. :D

The seller never recanted, or accepted the truth about this pattern detail. But.....I sometimes expect that just because I happen to know the minutia of these and other Schrade patterns which I have studied indepth, that others should now know them too, since I have afterall published the information on the WWW for all to see and use.

One more detail helps to date this knife. See the paper? This logo design is circa 1985. Also the bilingual text? Mid to late eighties.
