Indecision...What to make?

Got some 1/4" O1 tool steel 18" long and 2 1/2" wide just crying out to be made into a blade.
Torn between making a Bolo (Old Army Style) or a Smatchet Style blade (Maybe Sykes/Fairbanks) possibly a blade made some time ago called
"The Gladiator" sort of a Smatchet style blade. If someone has a pic of the Gladiator it would be appreciated.
Stock removal blade.
Just need a little help getting over a style design block. It will be an original design and will have some of the design influence of the blade you guys like, but will not be a copy by any stretch.

Just like to hear from you as to which style blade you like. Then take it and run with something different and original.

Post your thoughts on your favorite blade style maybe post a pic of a style you like. I will post pics as it develops and goes from design to completion.

Do both -- I know you have a penchant for creating wicked designs. :D Do an elongated smatchet with a bolo or kukri-type curve. One side for chopping, one side for slicing. :D

This is one of Al Massey's beauties. There is a fair market for short swords of this style.

I know you have a penchant for grinding those curves.

Or maybe something more along the lines of a hand and a half Randall #2 ;)

Since this steel is so wide I had intended to do an integral guard of some sort if it is a full tang...My brain is mush right now:(

I can HT an OAL of 16" so about a 11-12" or so blade is as far as I can go, on a hidden tang with pommel.

So far Birchtree has got my interest.
If someone has a design they would like to see come to life the blade would be designated as their design.
 
a small russian kindjal would be nice.

Drat! my gold membership has expired so I can't post a picture. um, if you google it you can find pics. My father has an antique kindjal that is a truly wicked small sword, best user in his extensive collection.
