My fellow Americans (sorry, but I'm limiting this for those serviced completely by the U.S. Postal Service),

At the gun show today, I came across two discontinued, but new in box, Victorinox Solo Plus from the Victorinox 108mm Safari line. One I'll keep, and one I'll give away here. Just be a regular contributor to the Traditionals Forum with a USA mailing address and post you're in and what Independence Day means to you. I'll select a winner next week on Independence Day.

The pics below are of the knife, and they do not lie. The color is indeed off from one scale to the other. Both knives I wrangled today are so dressed.

Leg, thanks for the shot at winning a great SAK!

The fourth has always been a great time of reflection for me. We've all grown to appreciate it as a day of celebration, and and a time for family, friends, and yes....fireworks. I just like to remind folks of what our ancestors truly endured, to provide us the greatest nation of which we all have the privilege of citizenship. Thankfully, I've never seen combat, but I have served. It's helped me to better appreciate the sacrifice of the men and women over time who've laid down their lives to maintain our way of life, today.

Eat, drink, tell your family members how much you love them, & your friends how much they mean to you. Lift one for the fallen, and thank God for his benevolence to our nation.

Thanks for the chance, buddy!
I'm always looking forward to adding something to the collecton, so thanks, I'm in!
As for what the 4th of July means to me... Somewhat a sad day, knowing our Founding Fathers warned us so well of what to not let the Government do, to not let them take control of us. But, we have sadly been letting it happen. It's a day to celebrate our Independence from Britain... but also a day to remember how we have let it boomerang back again... us allowing an overbearing government to do what our forefathers fought so hard to pull away from :(
In any case, I want to thank you again for your generousity! :)

For me the 4th of July is similar to Memorial Day: a time to remember where we as a country came from and the brave citizens who gave us the freedoms that we enjoy today.
It is now a time to spend with family and friends, a time away from the busy lives we all have.

Thanks for the chance, I am in!

Its a great knife and I would carry it is a heart beat! I just don't want to go off on a political rant...lol Jimmy is being nice!!

Not an entry.

Please keep the posts positive.

Thanks for the chance, leghog, please include me in the GAW. I have a budding collection of swiss army knives and that Solo would add some variety.

For the past few 4ths I've taken advantage of my extra day off and enjoyed a long bike ride. I have a favorite secluded spot to catch the local fireworks.

Im in. Not sure how I missed this thread so long. My first knife my grandpa gave me was a victorinox and that looms like a good knife I can give my little boy in a few years for his first.

This holiday for me is a time to spend time with family, eat some good food, and remember those who stood up against the British and gave us this great nation we enjoy today, flaws and all.

Cool knife. I really love the solo blade, and the screw is what I need to open the wife's favorite drink. Sure would be nice to have.

July 4th means a lot to me. The 4th is about celebrating our country with family and other loved ones. The day has taken on more meaning as I’ve gotten older. Since I have a brother and friends who either are or have served in the armed forces, I can better understand what this day means. Like Memorial Day and Veterans Day, the 4th of July now is about more than just family and friends. To me it’s about remembering the past when people fought and sacrificed to create this country. Today, it’s about those serving to keep it safe. I hope that we can all take time and remember that the 4th is more than a fireworks and cookouts. We should all be thankful to the people who make those things possible.

Independence day is the day we celebrate our forefathers struggle to free us from English tyranny. And we should all be glad they did. If they hadn't done so, we would all be speaking English today!

Is there really so little interest in this knife?

Great practical EDC knife. I have a few of these already so if I win, pass it on the Newest BladeForums member.

Thank You for the Great Giveaway. Hope ALL of You have a FUN and SAFE 4th of July.

Happy 4th! What the heck, put me in please. I haven't won one of these things yet!
