Indian Ford Folder: Made in Japan or China?

I hope some of the Kershaw experts can help me here. I like the looks of the Indian Ford folder (SS w/ rosewood inlays), and see some advertised as made in Japan and others in China. When were they made where, and what is the difference in price, quality, steel, etc.? Is the sure way to tell a blade stamp of "Japan" or "China", or are there other ways?

Thanks very much.

I believe all the newer ones are made in china and are stamped as such. The older ones and I have no idea when they switched were made in japan and stamped as such from what I remember. Maybe someone else will chime in here.

After looking around I am only seeing Japan. regardless they all should be stamped.

Fit and finish should be both good either way. I had a carbon fiber one it was china made and it was perfect fit and finish. Steel should be aus6a atleast on the newer stuff I seen.

Thanks for your reply, bad_juju.

I also sent an inquiry to Kershaw, and was impressed with the very fast and helpful reply from Diane there. She says that the Indian Ford (model 2155) was made in Japan until 2011 when production was switched to the factory in China, and that the country of origin is stamped on the blade (as bad_juju stated).
