I resently purchased a Stiff K.I.S.S. throwing knife that is 7.25 inches long and i was wondering is this legal to carry in public if you are under te age of 18, or if it is legal to carry at all.

Hey neat someone else in Indiana. It is illegal to carry any type of automatic or throwing knife or "ninja star". The legal limit on length I have found to be 6 inches(Realize this is from what I have found on the Indiana Law Server and the freindly police.) Also I dont beleive there are any legal standards on age. I'm 16 and i never get stopped. Here the Indiana Law Server if you want to try to find it yourself.

Kyui Su Kim,
Where in the IN Code did you find a 6 inch legal limit for knife blades? Automatic, spring loaded knives are defined and prohibited, but I did not find a blade size limit.

Thanks

I asked the local police and a state trooper and some knife collecters at the gun and knives show.

To my knowledge, Indiana does not have a legal size limit for knife blades. 20+ years ago Indiana had a CCW Law, Carrying a Concealed Weapon that was so broad that we could arrest someone with a a pair of toenail clippers if they were in the wrong place at the wrong time doing the wrong thing. That law was repealed when the new Indiana Code took effect. It's possible that a new law has been enacted in the last year, but I seriously doubt it. That's why my curiousity of where in the Indiana Code that you saw that published.

Thanks,

sarge
