"The Indiana Senate has approved a bill that would end the state's ban on switchblades.

Senators voted 47-0 Thursday to advance the proposal to the House. The bill would legalize the sale and possession of spring-loaded knives, often called switchblades.

Bill sponsor Sen. Jim Tomes (toms) of Wadesville says the ban is outdated and removing it would help people with disabilities or arthritis. He says emergency workers would benefit from being able to quickly open a knife by pressing a button."

I love Indiana's laws! I traveled there from Ohio and felt relieved when I was researching their laws. I just need a reason to move there haha.

Just to set the record straight, the Knife Rights bill in Indiana has only just passed the Senate, albeit unanimously, which is a good start. We still have to get it passed in the House and then have it signed by the Governor.

If you live, work or travel in Indiana, please contact your Representative and ask them to support SB181. Click here to locate your Representative, and/or the Representative who represents where you work or travel.
