An HI golok. Unbelievable!

<At least I think it's a golok. One who knows ethno-blades will probably call it something else unpronounceable.>

Very cool!~ Looks like a great chopper, and really well done. I like the handle and guard a lot.

Very nice. :)

Is it just the lighting or is the "hamon" really visable (looking at pictures 2 and 3)

WUFFFF. Dang beautiful blade. Saweet!

mmmm, full tang chiruwa too. nifty.

I did see it first. The gods are testing me again. Hard call, but I figured there's nothing that beauty can do that my Neem-Truoiled Tarwar can't already do.

Lee-Enfield disease, coupled with a bout of Russo-German Mauseritis, has left me temporarily unabled.

Ted mighta' got it; he has a beautiful HI sword collection.

hi y'all

the 'indonesian model'
8-06-06-1%20001.jpg

reminds me more of the 'klewang'

rather than the golok:

however valiant has a couple that look similar & are referred to as golok:

and, having a guard like that is a bit unusual, a bit like the sanduko bolo

i think what you call it depends on the regional word for 'knife' as much as the blade shape/style.

the scabbard to my eye does not quite match, it should be wood with bindings to match the indonesian motif, kinda like some of the wood scabbards with bamboo wrap that the occasional kukhri comes with, or wood with brass / german silver bands....mebbe the owner could add some brass bands at the scabbard mouth and down its length....

anyway, a wicked looking chopper that is probably more heavily built than most indonesian knives

I agree that it is more similar to the klewang, but I bet it's a great bush blade. I would love to see more klewang/goloks in the future....maybe one with just the rat tail tang or less (for tradition).
