Recently some knifemakers, among whom some famous names, have been swindled by indonesian buyers who bought knives paying with credit cards which resulted eventually to be fake!
The news come to me from a highly reputed smith who asked me to spread the voice as much as I can, to warn other smiths to be careful with buyers from the far east and Indonesia in particular.
Forewarned is forearmed.

Luckily I had seen the earlier posts about the scam- got an Indonesian 'Order' today for a little over $1,400.00, wanting to pay by card-

Would have been nice....

Is there a place to report these scams?

anytime you get a card with any amount you don't feel
comfortable with you should call the card holder bank
and verify the shipping address if the address is not
listed on the card holders account, don't ship it
make the customer add the address to the account he will if
he's on the up and up with you.
a customer with a good card can dispute a shipment too
if it goes to another address that he wants it to go to.
just to make some money ... the police won't spend
the time to mess with
a few hundred bucks. the card company leaves it up to you
to make sure the merchandise goes to the right place .
if you need numbers to call let me know...
you can call me too if you'd like.:)

edited to add Numbers to call go here
