Does anyone who has bought one of these have an opinion yet on which one is best?
I have seen the TV commercial for the Reflex but at $75 it looks a little steep, is it?

Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated, I am considering one of these for my nephew's B-day in February.
Thanks

The grandkid has one, and I must admit they look cool as Hell. I loved flying helicopters in Combat Flight Simulator, which didn't really support them...A long story.

However, I'm sure my two retrievers would consider one a fascinating and crunchy toy!

Hair is the enemy. First time you fly on or near a carpet, drape, hair ball (if you have cats) guess what those propelllers do? Thats right. Its gonna mess things up. Also, the controls don't work as well as advertised and its even more the case once you bang them up after a few crashes. Its hit or miss as to which way the thing will go most of the time even before a crash though and overall if they had not been gifts and I bought them myself, I'd have already been asking for a refund if that was possible. Overall I think they are junk!

Oh yeah. It takes about 25 to 50 minutes to charge them up depending on the model and you get about 6 to 10 minutes of flying before they need charged again. Like I said, junk! Don't waste your money. I got the small one and the hummingbird two rotor model for Christmas. The two rotor one is worthless. The little one actually can take off but its completely uncontrollable and has a mind of its own. I'd say maybe a kid would get a kick out of them for maybe a day and then the novelty would wear off because all they really do is fly up, crash, and then you have to set them up again so they can fly up go their own way again and crash once more. Then once hair builds up in the rotors you have to pull that out because they no longer have enough propeller speed to fly and by the time you do that the batteries are dead again.

If you really want some though I know a guy that will sell you a couple new ones for a good deal. :D

The best toy I got all year was one of those Marshmellow Shooters. You seen those? Now thats something I enjoy using. It shoots those mini marshmellows. I have two male cats. They always get into this territory thing causing a rukus in the house scaring the other two cats (female) yeah I know my wife loves cats what can I say, but you know what? I like beaning them with marshmellows so its working out. :D

www.marshmallowville.com get the camo one! Its cool. Don't mess with the red balls they sell. Worthless. The Marshmellows work best trust me.

I bought the $25 air hog on at Walmart. I have pictures at home I can post later. We love it. My 2 year old beats the hell out of it. Mine will charge in less than 5 mins and run for about 8mins or so. We have crashed it tons, chased the cats and lots of other fun things. They are a blast for $25.

I did try the Reflex air hog at Walmart, they run around $65. They are junk, very hard to fly, mine was returned.

Get the cheap one. Mine is still going strong almost a year later. The blades wobble a bit now, but it still flys great!

Thanks guys!!!

As usual you all are a huge help...............

This one is the good one! Well worth $25.

Here it is next to the reflex. It was junk, took about 30mins to charge, and....did not steer worth a crap. It went back to walmart. I think STR had this one. The little RED one flys like a champ. If you put a little weight on the nose (it comes with a little foil square) it will fly around and not just hover. You car barely see it under the nose in the picture.

This is a fun little guy too.

It will go around 30 Miles Per Hour, it looks like a blur when its running around the driveway. I have added a few more hop ups since the picture.

I also added a heat sink..........to the hopped up motor and li-poly battery. Look at the bald tires. I have street tires on her now, and a old time ford truck body......

For lots of RC fun I have this beast...................:D It runs on nitro, and has two speeds and will hit 45+ miles per hour.

And with a body that matches my truck perfect.......well except for them bling'in wheels.

Sorry for going off topic, I'm a RC nut too. A least I didn't post pics of my airplanes. :D

i have one called the mosquito.

its a lot of fun, but the learning curve was kinda steep. or im just stupid.

i kept crashing it. took a while, i kept expecting it to go faster. it is more of a moving hover, pretty slow.

I have two of these. After some slight mods and a little practice I can take-off from a DVD case, fly through all three of the rooms in my house; doing touch-n-goes on different surfaces and then return to the DVD case and land. Took about 4-5 hours of practice spread over a few days when I was off from work.

It's a very fun time waster when you only have a few minutes to burn.

If you really like the minis and want to upgrade, the Blade CX is a nice one. Quite a bit more money ($170 or so), but VERY nice.

Here's a vid of mine flying around the living room a little.

ive got the first one so-lo posted, it really is great, it takes a bit of practice to learn how to steer it right, but once you know how its pretty cool.and i found ti to be VERY durable too

Dang, I love mine. I am mentally challenged when it comes to gadgets and toys as I never had them as a kid. Mine fly great,if hair gets in there I just pull it out,no big whup. Chasing the dog has now become an official new sport.Just try not to go after her head. She has fun running away from it.She hasnt chomped down on it yet but has been tempted. I think the things are tough, but I have ruined one. Not sure what I did to it. The big challenge in our house is to try and land it on the ceiling fan blades (not moving). Takes some practice but I've done it ten times.
