Anyone have experience with the Gerber/Winchester marked Diamond stones? They have gotten my curiosity from the low price they can be had, around $15 shipped. Do they give respectable results or would I just be wasting my time and money on an inferior product.

Yes I know that DMTs are the best regarded brand but I am always looking for a bargain.

In the end buying the good stuff saves you lots of money.

I've bought cheap diamond stones, the brand was torquata(Aussie brand), and with the 320grit stone I had the sides 100% worn out after like 3months of weekly use, I still have a small 1000grit stone for touch ups in the field, from what I've learned from the cheap stones is that if you use a bit too much pressure, the diamonds will dislodge from the steel plate. I would definitely recommend the DMT stones if you want something that will last.

Not as cheap as you are talking about but this is the lowest prices I have seen on DMT's. Pretty cheap especially if you are satisfied with the 6" ones. The 3 piece set (CFE) is a really good deal. I like the 8" size though and that's the best deal I have seen on those as well.

I guess their OK if you like really nice stuff.
