Hey all, looking for some input in a good value fixed blade for my big out bag..
My only two requirements are low price/high value and molle sheath..

Please help! Thx in advance for your recommendations!

Mora.

For maximum value sheath retention molle system tactical blade attachments, buy some aftermarket duct tape in your choice of colour.

Any sheath with at least one attachment point can be securely attached to molle at just about any angle with a bit of 550 paracord.

Not sure what your location is exactly, but if it gets very cold I'd stay with handle designs that keep your fingers off the tang.

Not sure about molle sheath, but you can always get an aftermarket.

As for the knife, you could get a Mora for very cheap, high value.
Or step up to an ESEE, Becker, etc.

BK-17

That is an excellent choice! Throw the bottle of Moosehead in the BOB too, it'll make you feel better if you actually have to bug out :D

Lol! Good ideas fellas.. Thanks I will definitely look into the bk16.. As for paracord attachments.. Help wo
uld be appreciated..

ESEE IZULA for inexpensive and practical. 3-4 if you want something a little bigger. all excellent choices.

BK11, you can attach it to anything with paracord and its value far exceeds its price.

I can't think of a high value knife with a low price.

The only thing I'd use a fixed blade for is fire preparation, and there isn't an inexpensive knife I'd trust to hold up to batoning, it's just too hard on knives to go cheap.

If money were that much of an issue, I'd buy a decent hatchet and a Mora Clipper and would be able to do any shelter building or fire making chore.

Since money isn't an issue, when it comes to life or death, I'd use my Bark River Bravo 1 because it's the only knife that hasn't disappointed me in the woods so far.

There are a few ways to do it with a basic sheath. Easy way is take the paracord through belt loop and go under molle straps on gear then back over top before bringing the paracord under sheath to the blade tip/bottom of the sheath and go under molle then cross over sheath...go under sheath again and tie off, cut off extra length.

If you wet the paracord first it's good but not necessary. Practice makes perfect...you can make an old leather sheath perfectly secure on a molle vest.
