I've owned a few frame locks and like the simplicity and
strength of them but it seems you have to spend way over $100
to get one. I'm aware of the Storm II and have owned one before
but I'd like something a little more expensive and a little lighter also.
I can't think of anyone that's making any knife like this right now.
I'd like at least a 3.5 in. blade. Any suggestions?

Thanks

The Spyderco Volpe seems to fit your criteria nicely. The Kershaw Storm II is showing to weigh 4.2 oz and the Volpe is showing 3.9 oz.

Might be a bit small, but if you are willing to wait I think spyderco is coming out with a ti framelock sage sometime next year.

Camillus EDC. It's no longer made, but they're around. Try a famous auction site, or Google it.

If I had a 100 smackers to play around with a Kershaw S110V Sprint Run Shallot would be headed my way!

I think it is hard to beat the AG Russell Folding Spear Point, it's light, fast, and if you don't mind a cosmetic blemish (never did find it on mine) you can buy it as a second for $75.00 or for 100 bucks if you think it a second would offend...lol. The steel is 154CM which is both easy to sharpen and has good edge retention. Blade length is 3 inches. Scales are titanium, total weight 2.9 ounces.

The Spyderco Volpe or the Kershaw 110V Shallot, no question about it.

Both are great knives from great companies, you really can't go wrong with either!

Another vote for one of the Kershaw framelocks, such as the Shallot, or even one of their beefy linerlock models like the Junkyard Dog II or ENER-G II, which are essentially framelocks with added G10 scales. The Sandvik steel, either 13C26 or newer 14C28N, used in the basic models is outstanding, with excellent edge holding and toughness. The knives are robustly built, great values, and backed by top-notch warranty and service.

I just ordered a Shallot off evil bay for less than 70 bucks. Matter of fact very slightly over 60 bucks plus shipping, in the 110v PE, framelock, nib from a vendor. Everyone is raving about it so figured I'd treat myself for Xmas early. That is till the ol'lady gets the AmEx bill! keepem sharp
