Inexpensive knife re-grinding service?

I just got in my Cold Steel Bowie machete. Not easy to find seeing as they aren't made anymore ^_^ But the bevel on the edge looks like Michael J Fox did the grinding. I'd love to do it my self, but sadly I don't have the setup to do an 18'' blade....or at least not easily :-( So...I wanted to know if anyone here could do it on the cheap. Or at least walk me through the process of regrinding the blade geometry in an easy fashion, so at least the bevel is even on both sides....

This. Everyone has a file, and even my cheapest files bite on cold steel machetes.

use a file to sharpen it. lay it on the edge of a bench with the handle hanging over the edge so the blade lays flat and clamp it down. i could sharpen it for you but i would try the file first. check out this thread if you want to get a setup for sharpening your knives.

i would recommend removing most of the metal with a file then convexing with the sandpaper and mousepad method. i got great results on my machete that way.
