Infi & A2

I think I understand at least some of the model variations and whether they are INFI or A2, such as:
- All models having handles with tubes are INFI (excluding at least some apprentice knives).
- All BA II, MS, SH II models with unslotted screw handles are A2.
- Battle Mistresses - all are INFI, including all screw handled ones.
- Steel Heart II - some slotted screw handled variations are INFI and some are A2.

Here is where the uncertainty comes in:
- Are all slotted screw variations of the Badger Attack and Mean Street INFI?
- If some BA & MS variations with slotted screws are A2, is there an easy way to tell visually, without having them tested?
Thank you for your help!:)

I don't know the answers for sure, I also have trouble with the slotted screw variations.

I think the only way to tell for sure is to have Jerry look at them.

I edited my original post to add "BA II, MS, SH II" to the line about unslotted screw models.

99.999% perhaps. I believe some Special Edition Straight-Handled BM's had smooth screws. Also, knives even older than A2 such as the ATS-34 SH1's had smooth screws.

No.

Not that I know of--at least nothing certain.

The knives on the A2-INFI boarder are some of my favorites. Although I would be curious as to what steel a boarder knife had, I think both steels have their charm.

One way to tell if it's A2 is if the Blueing is still on the knife between the handles.

keep this in mind as you search the world for killer knives...

it is nice to know whether you have infi or a-2 in a busse but....

busse has never had to replace EITHER of these kind of knives from failier.

so when you see that older model that looks kool and is an awesome buy go ahead and scarf it up!:p

i'll bet you can't break it, busse does too!:D :D

Also, I believe that any older models re-worked by the shop will have tubes also.

Too, I've been told that slotted with coating on the pommel but ground/buffed off the top/bottom of the tang is most likely A2, and fully ground-off is INFI.

It's bad enough we have INFI hogs; now, witht he encouragement of IdahoSkunk, we're going to see A2 hogs as well.

I've always been a fan of the A10 hog. They are tough and "so ugly they're pretty" airplanes that can make a bunch of tanks have a real bad day. They take a spankin and come back OK - looking for more. They are thick, not sleek and sexy but they really get the job done. Hmmmmmmmmm, wonder if Busse had anything to do witht he Warthogs?

It's funny the Warthog used to be called the Thunderbolt...that must not have portrayed an ugly enough picture. I think the Warthog nickname takes care of that...that is one ugly animal ;):D:D

now you can be...

two click, two click, two hogs in one

with double oink, double oink, double oink fun
