I am a big fan of the traditional camp axe. Extremely practical and just a great design for so many reasons. Just add or extend the shaft several inches on Paul's hatchet and make the head a bit larger-and done. This type of axe was made somewhat famous by the Scagel camp axe many years ago, but obviously people working in the great outdoors have been using such tools for hundreds of years. I would LOVE to see one that is made with the best steel on earth-INFI. Bark River actually made one I believe for 2009 or 2010 as an updated version of the Scagel design as well. I have been doing some research to get one myself this summer-and the choices are very limited for a quality made camp axe-which is why I think Jerry should come up with an INFI made camp axe. Like seen in the Zilla and other influenced designs- how sick would a camp axe be? The BRK is actually very nice, but as tough as 1070 or whatever is- some base of 1095/1055 I think. Its just not INFI- and truth be told- as many collector/users as there are on the forums here alone... I really think this would be a big hit and people would come out of the woodwork to get a special run- INFI camp axe for their collection, backpack, safe, shed or garage.. Its been quite a # of years since an axe has been released no? What do you folks think? Would you purchase such a thing if Jerry came out with the best camp axe on earth? Summer is coming soon-and an INFI camp axe would be just the thing!
Thx!
