Sigh... Well it was only a matter of time.

My knives came up in a discussion with my wife tonight. I was optimistic to portray in a good light as I have had quite a year for collection growth. Comments were made about my wall of blades (Wall? barely, just a little chunk of pegboard). Then a few questions about prices and value came up.

Now I know what most of you are thinking... That is about the time to shut your mouth, make a comment about her sister, fake a seizure... Basically anything to change the topic or at least try for some damage reduction right?

Nope, not me. :grumpy: I went and commented about some of the prices and how I try to do a bit of trading or balance out with toys from other areas. "Besides" I said "the knife I really want makes the rest of them look cheap". A confused look from here so I blathered on about that beautiful SHBM that showed up today on the exchange that I passed on and how they don't show up often but that I really plan on getting one some day. Without missing a beat I then told her the price... :foot: :grumpy:

I tried to recover by backpedaling and telling her again that I passed on it since I thought it was too much money right now, but alas the damage was done.

So now, here I am in the doghouse about my knife buying and general spending habits. Gonna be a while to dig myself out of this one. :(

She is ANGRY that I didn't buy it!

Sorry fellas, she is taken! :D:thumbup:

You SOB, you had me going there for a minute. :D I was ready to offer you a place to sleep, for a modest piece of INFI of course. :D

Ha ha... had me going. She's a keeper for sure!

I've resorted to smuggling mine into the house now... pretty sad I know.

Next year is gonna have to be a very lean one for me!

Ha ha. I was all set to hear the typical "anti-knife wife" tale of woe.

So where is her hot young 20-30 year old knife-loving sister? :D

I was admiring the clever use of the smilies in your post! Good one though

I figured I should have some fun with this one. However I haven't brought up my ASH-1 orders yet. I am no longer worried about that though. :D

Good one, my g/f had a discussion last night with me about how I should find a way to buy that FBMLE haha and when I said I couldnt she offered 200 towards it. Yeah I know...its a hard knock life.

Man, that is funny. you got me too. The big joke around my work is the packages that keep showing up...I have all my knives and stuff shipped there instead. I tried to tell em it was because i didn't want a package sitting on the front porch all day....but they know my wife gets home before me!

You got lucky! Any package that comes to me always get the, "What, another knife?" response from my beloved. Sometimes I get to say, 'No,dear, its a sheath for a knife!'

Good one:thumbup: Great wife you have!

I remember when mine would talk me into getting a knife....That day has long gone:(

Man... I need your wife to talk to my wife...

Had me feeling all guilty there for a while too!! ;)

Fake a seizure. LOL

The best of us can muster up a real one. It helps when the doc can back you up at the hospital. ;)
