INFI dimples

THey are the wholes you see that look like little pits above the CBT's in your pic.

Are you the original owner of this knife, meaning did it come directly from Busse to you?

Those lines could have been added by the previous owner(s).

I have'nt seen a Competition Finish knife with those on them .... that is a bit "rough" if it came from the factory like that .... I have seen them under the painted models sometimes when stripped .... but not on something where you would see it "as is" like that when it left the factory .... if you send that pic in to Amy and Garth I am sure they would help you if you wanted the marks removing .... Or given you are in Canada and postage might be an issue ...a bit of bead blasting done locally would probably sort that out .... it is fairly cheap to get that done over here and I assume the same would be the case in Canada .....

The lines are on a lot of Busse blades under the paint, if you look closely you will notice they all end in a point at the knife edge, not sure how they are created but think they are grind line indicators .

It's not my knife, but I have the same kind of multiples "w" marks on my CG Sarsquatches, CG HeavyHeart, CG Batac and Swamprat Ratweiler :

I have/had several with those chatter looking marks on the ricasso. I've always wondered what they are, sure dont help the looks of the knife overall eh?

Those last pics make me think it's the builder's signature ie: the initial of who ground the blade.Have you seen any marks that don't look like a "w"?

Clearly the blade is defective and must be sent to me for proper disposal.

I think it's just a way of marking the blades to keep them seperate. "marked with s" could be written on the work order to help them find it if the blade went walkabout.

I don't know. It looks like it could be a Rockwell testing file being rubbed up and down on its ricasso.

AFAIK, Rockwell testing marks are just an indent where the pointed tool is pushed into the steel.

Those ugly V marks I have seen on a number of Busse and Swamp Rat blades, maybe marks from the rolling mill? or tool chatter marks?

The W under the scale is something different, as LVC has mentioned.

It's curious that nobody knows... Jerry? Garth? Amy? Your customers need some infos! Thank you! :)
