I had to cut down some old dead branches off of some of my trees this week. Perfect weather for a fire with the family. Anyway I was teaching my little ones how to use one of my favorite fire starting methods. Swedish Fire Steel and dryer lint.

What are your favorite methods for fire starting? Feel free to post pics, vids, etc... especially ones with INFI in them.:D

I know the Swedish Fire Steel I used had a striker but it's so much more satisfying to use INFI. :D

No, No, No, not on the edge........

I had to fight the urge to get one of my big uns out and strop the edge just to feel better!

Really, the only Infi I used on my ferro rod was the rat tail on a stripped modded SS. worked perfect. Just a hint of a lip on one side of the tail, made it just right for striking. Just left the knife in the sheath and used the tail.

My problem is I am nearly anal retentive when it comes to keeping my infi sharp. I hate using strikers on my edge, because I have the uncontrollable urge to sharpen them right back up to hair popping.

I will say one thing, though...................I swear that is the first time I have seen you in shoes in a video when playing with sharp infi.........I always worry about you becoming stumpy when I see you prying logs apart with your AK and flip flops.

And boots too........it must really be winter down there!

Just foolin. I normally do not use the AK for fire making but rater use the attached striker. But it was fun. And the AK remains razor sharp. :D
