hi , you all.
as i knew there already has a small hachet , called paul's.

why not add one more combat style or tactical one as kd ,but made of infi?:D

i am looking for a KD now , but i know i need a bigger infi hachet .

combat bloody cool infi hachet , do you guys go with me ?
dingy

Well, if they made one of INFI, I would want the blade to be longer then 4" and then you wouldn't be able to get it...

they made 3 Busse axes with the old stright handle ages ago. they were pretty cool.

but none of that is combat style .

considering the toughness and flexiblity of mighty infi , is it more suit to make hawk than other steel?

i like one and a half hand combat weapons.

I'd love to see something like the pic below done to the Kill Devil Hawk but haven't inquired cause I'm strapped for cash  and I hate being a tire kicker so I haven't contacted Garth :D Didn't want to be "that guy"... The one who sees a new model and goes "Yeah, I'd buy it if..."

I love the Kill Devil, but an axe without a spike would be sweet to have around the farm for cutting briars, tobacco plants in the fall, trimming trees, etc.

knifeaddict thay don't grow any good tobacco in west "by " ginina. i do like the idea of a good "backor" knife when cutting and stabbing.

Haha. Glad I haven't picked up the local accent yet  We're growing mainly Burley 14L8 and trying some other varieties. As for the tomahawk, it's cool but I don't have a good enough reason to have the spike on it :)

Haha pretty good, I had to dredge up my Redneck mental dictionary to figure that one out! Round about these parts we been known to jest say backy!

All about the heat treatment guys - RMJ, for example, is as we all know made from one piece of steel. The spine and handle clock in at 30rc, while the cutting edges are at 55rc. Just food for thought when talking about steel choice for a specific tool.

i sure hope the kill devil and rattlehawk are one piece construction with a good heat treatment. also what steel are the rmj hawk's made of?

Oge14 - I misspoke RMJ's latest model is not one piece construction. Below is a posting from their website. If my memory is correct their blade steel is a 4140 variant.

A blade cuts only as good as the steel, the edge geometry and the heat treatment that goes into making it. If one of these factors is neglected or compromised the quality of the blade suffers. Heat treatment plays a major role in how the Shrike tomahawk performs. The Shrike goes through seven specific heat treat operations including four tempering cycles. The entire tomahawk is first hardened and double tempered to a hardness of 30 Rockwell C. This is an extremely tough and springy temper that gives the tool a lot of shock resistance. Next the tomahawk cutting edges are through flame hardened and double tempered again to a hardness of 55 Rockwell C. This hardness is good for cutting into materials such as sheet metal, brick, wood, etc. without losing its edge. This differential heat treatment, much like that of the Samurai swords of feudal Japan enables the tomahawk to have a tough, shock resistant body with hard cutting edges.

i kind of carbon steel .

i just get two estwing tomahawks , very cool for 40 bucks.

one of my friends ordered 4 kill devils today , and one of 4 is mine , may be it will take 4 months to hold KD in hand.
