I'm headed to the Mentawai Islands off the Northwest coast of Sumatra on a surf trip tomorrow afternoon. Coconuts are everywhere, and one of my user NMSFNO's will be the perfect coconut harvester. It's not satin, so most of the blade will be protected from the salt water except the edge. Can anyone suggest some kind of oil or protectant that I can use on the blade after each use? Thanks,

Skkeeter.

double as in over head or double as in 2 in 1

Barreled twice in one wave:thumbup: I've been surfing for 14 years now, from South America, Europe, Indonesia, Mexico, Hawaii, Central America, and mostly here in good old Ca. Ca is great for waves, just not so much for gun laws and politicians:mad::mad:

:DHere's a few pics from my last trip out there,

As you can see in this pic, LOTS OF COCONUTS^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Hopefully the pics I bring home will feature INFI steel in them. No Whisky in Indo, just ARAK, the local palm alcohol. I'll get good and drunk a few times for all you hogs!!!!

How about just schmearing
coconut oil/chunks over the blade when your done using it?

Have you ever seen a rusty coconut? :D

Seriously,I would think it would be fine to wipe the blade
then coat it with coconut oil till you got home.

Use what's available to you by nature:thumbup: Great advice. I imagine I could dehydrate some of the coconut meat in the sun, then rub the dried oil laden meat over the blade. Then after I shoot some huge fish with my speargun I'm bringing, I can use the NMSFNO with coconut oil on it to slice up the chunks of fresh fish, seasoning it in the process:D:D:thumbup::thumbup:
