Got back from a little fun in the BWCA yesterday and wanted to share a few pics with you HOGs.

This is a map shot of a small portion of Knife lake with a NMSFNO. We spent a few days looking for Lake Trout and Walleye here. Red and black line is the US / Canadian border and the red dots are camp sites.

How we got there. 17.5 feet of kevlar and jell coat. Pic is taken on one of many portage trails, a rare one at that because it's flat.

This seemed to be a more typical portage trail on this trip.

Nice sun set pic in a bay of Knife Lake

This little guy was as busy as could be and seemed to enjoy watching us while he eat.

This Ruffed Grouse almost took my head off flying into camp. Eye opening to say the least.

One of the many Loons we paddled across.

View from the top of a portage going into Ensign lake.

Another of the NMSFNO.

Curb what curb:foot::D

I still think some Ten-oh-see-on slipped me a mickey.:eek::p

Teabags not taking my calls :rolleyes: But the "chain and a flash of green" story made for some good laughs around the camp fire. :D

Yes you did.:thumbup:

Only if I was wise enough to listen.:o All turned out good though and I wouldn't take any of it back, I had a great time down there. Thanks for the memories.:cool:

Clangin chains still brings tears to my eyes man.:D:D:D

Awesome man, I'm stoked to head up to the Boundary Waters in ten days. Love them smallmouth up their. They fight like crazy.

Nice shots! I love seeing pics from trips. Good to see everyone getting out.

Nice pics. Looks like that is a Wenonah canoe, correct? I am in the market for a new boat and have been considering those.

How are the skeeters this year?:p

Actually they weren't that bad but we had some nice winds come threw at the right times.:thumbup:

The gnats on the other hand seemed to like Ultrathon, not mind Permanone, and gave the bite of eternal itch.:grumpy:

Few more shots:

Batoned threw a few of these up there.

rutmi01, you lucky dog. You should have some nicer nights by then. We still ran into some temps in the mid to high thirties a few nights. Not bad but it started raining too. Have fun man and beware of the wet rocks. They make black ice look sticky.

Thanks for the kind words all.

Yep, Wenonah Spirit II Kevlar Flex-core.

I purchased it in 2004 and it has been a great family fun / wilderness tripper.

Very stable ride.

I don't envy the research your about to embark into. Lots and lots of good companies out there today making some stellar rides.

Oh, if you haven't checked it out yet paddling.net use to have a lot of great reviews on all the different canoes and kayaks.

Good luck and thanks.
