At first, I wouldn't give the War Boar a second glance. But the more I see it the more it grows on me. What is your experience with it and what is the going rate for one nowadays. I think I've been subconsciously talking myself into buying one in the near future but, I've got a week old baby and God knows it is the last thing my bank account needs right now (the War Boar that is).

congrats on the new baby

lol I'm in the same boat. Wife is due in 6 weeks and will be on parental leave until Sept 2010. I want a Key Lardo sooo bad.

I had a WB once and sold it. As you probably know, the karambit is basically designed for some kind of confrontation scenario. Unless you find yourself in that kind of situation often, it won't see much use. And lest you think, "Well, I'll just carry it in case I do need it for that (one never knows, does one? ;)), and if I don't, I can still use it for cutting open cardboard boxes, envelopes, etc.", I can tell you from personal experience that it is a very poor cutter. Is it cool? Sure. But IMHO, that is about all it's got going for it. Of course, if it is going to be a safe queen, then who needs practicality?

And IIRC, most of them sold from Busse for less than $300.

Good luck in your decision.

I eyeballed the WB at the company store for ever, and then bought an AK47 instead. It seemed more practical.:D

Yeah, I doubt I would ever find myself using it as it was intended. It just looks like a nasty blade that I would really like to have.

Still interested if anyone else has found some practical use for it.

"Nasty" is certainly a subjective term, and I think I know what you mean by it. A WB in the right hands could make a very formidable weapon, and it does possess a certain "intimidation factor". Still, if you are looking to really open someone's eyes, you need a Force 1. When I had mine (yep, sold it as my collection focus shifted), that knife never failed to elicit a "Holy ____!" when people saw it. Really, you have to see it in person because pics of it just don't convey how intimidating its looks can really be. Maybe someone near you might have one that they would be willing to at least let you look at.

Definately looking for the "Holy crap!" factor. Not sure if I've seen the Force 1. I'll have to do some research on that one.

Thanks,
Adam

Okay, found the Force One. Yeah, I think I would s#%! my drawers if I came upon one of those in a dark alley. I have more than enough tanto style blades in my collection, no karambits though. If I'm gonna get one, might as well make it INFI!

One just sold on the Exchange last week for 500.00. I've seen 5 or 6 sell on the Exchange and the Bay in the last 4-5 months, and they have all gone between 500.00 and 600.00.

Good luck on your search and congrats on the baby. Let the kid wipe his ass with Infi.
