INFI Question!!!!

Bare with my non-GOLD status for a while! I have already renew it but not yet revive.

Is INFI able to make into Damascus pattern steel?

My understanding of Damascus is told by someone that it is 2 type of steel using a method to drip through a pattern mold and combin togather. That is the story behind the damascus pattern on the blade. (i am not sure if this information is correct, since i am really lack of technical knoledge.)

If it is correct, is INFI able to create damasus pattern steel? Is this method will make INFI steel less strong? Which serves no practical purpose than just trying to make the blade look more appealing? I don't see any Busse custom blade has Damascus look, so i kind of guess it is not possible to be done.

Can someone try to help me to end my curiousity?

There are many different techniques that bladesmiths and blacksmiths use to make Damascus knife blades. The following is a basic method for a fixed blade knife:

You could of course use INFI as one of the two steels in a laminated damascene pattern, but you wouldn't have INFI any more because you would have lost the heat treatment which is one part of what makes INFI what it is.
