Ok folks, so I like busse a lot... dont own one yet but i was wondering if busse is the only company to use infi steel and was wondering about what metals compose infi steel? Thanks

I don't know the chemical make up off hand, but yes, Busse is the only company with INFI.

The metalurgical analysis has been posted, but I never saved it; no doubt someone else will have the link.

INFI is the proprietary combination of the steel and the special heat treat process developed by Busse.

Infi is made of the usual stuff plus Nitrogen. It has a legendary heat treat and a top notch deep cryo treatment too.

man , you are right ,thanks.
i really mean that Particle Metallurgy infi , will it better than infi?:D:D:D

jerry has stated that infi is not a powdered steel, and that powder metallurgy would not increase it's performance in the area's that it designed for.

as I understand it the biggest problem is that the powder metallurgy refines the grain structure and the matrix pattern, making it easier for a stress to find a line in the steel to break at. I don't know the name of it off hand, but the bessemer/oxygen lance style of melting and pouring metal then hot and cold rolling it creates a much more randomized type of grain and matrix structure. the result is that stress has a harder time finding large lines on wich to act upon, the stress is defused throughout the matrix rather then being able to centralize on a single line in the matrix pattern.

something like that:confused:
