A few years back I purchased a Swamprat Ratmandu. I liked the knife but other than general knife maintenance, it was lost in the back of a safe. Recently, I located the Ratmandu, reprofiled it to 20 dps and took it on a couple short hikes. I was amazed at how well rounded of a belt knife it was. It cuts efficiently, yet is tough as nails. The Ratmandu is like a middle weight boxer with heavyweight power. Ergonomics, like on all Busse blades is just so good. My middle age hands will fatigue quickly if ergos are not perfect and while the Ratmandu’s handle feels small in hand, in actual use, it’s comfort is unsurpassed for me.Two weeks later, I found the perfect belt knife. The Infi version! It has all of the attributes that make the Ratmandu one of my favorites but is satin, Infi, convexed and surprisingly thin behind the edge. This new blade has not hit the trail with me yet but soon wil. Another one may be in my future. One user/one safe queen. I just wanted to quickly share how great of a knife this is and how happy I am with it. Between this and the CS Flak Jack, this may be the greatest knife week of my life.
Ps-I hope it’s ok that I created this post in the main Busse Page. It feels like a family collaboration between Busse/The Swamp.
