So why no Infi Razel yet Jerry? Its a handy tool and could make an excellent addition to the stellar lineup. Anyone with me on this or am I just hammered? :o

I'm with you.

I have always wanted a nice Razel.

I actually made my own ghetto prison shank Razel out of 5160. Much taller blade from edge to spine. but nice sharp front edge.

Well, for one, wouldn't making a Razel be stealing the name and design from Graham knives???

.

seconded. making a "razel" probably isn't a good idea. It's an extremely well known design from a living maker who is known for that one particular design.

but thats not to say that there aren't some really good candidates for do it yourself modifications o_0

take maybe 20 minutes of extra grinding to put a forward bevel on it.

I have 2 Graham Bros Razels. Great EDC fixed blade! The only way one should be made in INFI is if the Graham Bros want to and Jerry agrees to let them use INFI. I'd be in for a collaboration piece but otherwise--no way.

LOL, LVC. I want to see your Razilla.:D

Is that a SAR5 on the end???

Razel = PASS. Yuck. I hate them flat-fwd knives. Too many of them out there right now. Anyone with a grinder and a website is making something similar, and I just don't see the use of it. Knives are to be pointy. Gimme a pointy one. LOL

it was, custom shop modified blade grind and handle profile. I changed the scales because the original ones were designed to have you grip the handle with an inch of space separating your finger and the edge guard.

a razel kz... *shudders* I meant the sus scrofa :p

Very true, see what I mean by hammered? :o lol even the one by CRKT was designed and approved by Jon and Josh...but not so much asking for a stolen design, and not minding what its called...I know many knifemakers get permission to use design features...IE: Strider using Rick's disc, Reeves frameloack design etc. Just not sure if Jerry would be interested unless there was a super high demand from Hogs for a razel type design..which I doubt because its a love it or hate it type design. Nice thought I guess...Infi would be superb steel for such a hard use design IMHO.

if you made the edge of the razel double thick. splitting the edge in half so you have one side ground at 21 degree's and putting a zero edge (true chisel) configuration would be stretching the capabilities of infi pretty thin. infi doesn't do well at such thin cross sections. d2, m2 and other high hardness tool steels are better suited for true chisels because they maintain better stiffness at thin coss sections.

I was thinking not so thin, more like .32 ground 40* or so, kinda like a sharpened prybar in the front something that could resist breakage with lateral strength and resist chipping better than D2

Sorry if I missed your point, I was only going off your original post of "So why no Infi Razel yet Jerry?", it didn't say anything about a collab or permissions obtained............

I have a custom and a midtech Razel, cool knives.

Lol no I meant I was hammered...when drinking Rum and posting stuff and you sometimes leave out the details. haha my fault. ;)

I would love to see a Busse and Graham collaboration on a Razel. An unlicensed copy just wouldn't be right now would it.

Best, Les.

I have an SS3, and it's the best EDC I own. Much better for me than any Busse design, period.

Ok, here is my crappy copy. First ever attempt at making a knife.

Also first attempt at leather, from a scrap piece with no real tools.
