While thinking about a problem here at work I was rubbing my chin, as I often do while working through issues. In doing so, I found I'd missed shaving a good size patch at the hinge of my jaw when I shaved this morning. So I ducked into the men's room, took my Busse from my belt, and with a few quick strokes had "dry shaved" the patch cleanly to match the rest of my face. I suppose I could have added water & some hand soap to soften it, but I was in a hurry. Can't say that I'd recommend it as S.O.P. but it worked as an on-the-fly solution this time.

That's a nice trick for a thick chunky blade that will also chop brush & trees all day long and peel a '67 Chevy Impala if need be.

Greg

Now that I have a Busse for an edc, I would gladly turn to it before those nasty torture BIC disposable razors. Is there anything more painful in the world? Ouch !!!!

Hey, D.M., there IS, indeed, something more painful: not owning a Busse knife---the mere thought pains me!

Now wait a minute guys. As stated in a previous post, I do not own a Busse (though have made a most generous offer to own one:) )
However, I do own a Strider EB/C which has been through its paces while building a new house (several chickens, a stand of bamboo, fish nets, and corrugated tin) with just a "light" and I do mean light. touch up using a sharpmaker fine triangle stone free hand. So I read your post and since I have not shaved in 3 days (watching the news of course) I gave it a whirl and the Strider "dry shaved" almost (almost) as well as a store bought throw away razor. Are you all saying that your Busse can shave better than my Strider? Wow I need to check this out for sure. If you will just ship me your Busse I will compare the two and give you a professional opinion as to which one dry shaves the best.:) OK? Please?

Aaargh,
Ok Bullhamster, I will bite, exactly which Busse is it that I am supposed to be holding my breath for:)

Remember, we could actually make a trade so that I could check out your Busse and you could check out my Strider for a week and then return to sender. However, I think it only fair that you should send me -two- Busse's for my one Strider. I mean considering Strider's reputation compared to Busse's reputation, That's fair, isn't it?

Hi Rad,

I think you got the numbers backwards. ;) In this crowd, it'll probably take more than a couple of Striders to get these maniacs to let loose of their Busses. I'm afraid that the Strider reputation among the Busse crowd isn't quite what it is among the Knife Knut world at large.

While I like Striders & think they make a good blade, I think I'll decline your kind offer to let me play with yours. Please excuse me while I keep my Busses close by. :)

Yours in nuclear Busse fanaticism,
Greg

Just buy one already dude! Once you use it, you'll understand...

IIRC, I seem to remember pics on the net somewhere of some guy getting his whole head shaved with a battle mistress... Damn, electric shavers don't cost that much do they? :D

As my signature states I own a Strider and a Busse now for daily carry. They are both first rate knives. My Strider folder can not be beat or even approached by another folder that I have seen. My Busse natural outlaw is impressing me day by day and I'm extremely pleased with it. The point of my ramblings? :) Simple, both companies make a great product, just down different lines of thought for design. While I plan to obtain Striders for my collection, I'll probably never get any for daily carry, I just like the design of Busse fixed blades far more than the Striders. Will this change in the future? who the hell knows :) On the other side of the coin, I will never ever(I mean it Brian :D) trade my Strider AR for any knife in the world no matter what the value, hands down :)

BAH!

Shaving a small patch on your face ain't nutin' :P This made not be the most lady-like confession to make, but I have dry shaved my legs rather than use a conventional razor. My only problem with it was that it tended to shave off my tan as well. No joke either. I accomplished all this with my husband's Police Recruit
