Infi, SR101, and sharpening

After spending a good part of my Saturday sharpening knives I started wondering. Is it just me or is INFI easier to sharpen then SR101:confused:

My FBM had a couple dingers in it as well as my RW, the FBM was good to go in no time at all 30 to 40 minutes popping, hair dings gone. The RW, I had to walk away from after over a hour, sharp as ever but I could still tell I had a couple dings that hadn't come out all the way yet and was about to have a RW through the t.v. moment.

So whats easier to maintain for you INFI or SR101?

Thanks
Helle

infi has always been easier for me to sharpen, hence all of my rats have been sold or traded.

I think they are equally easy to sharpen. I use mousepad/sandpaper and convex all my blades.

I have always had better luck sharpening SR101 over INFI, but I am somewhat "sharpening-challenged" :foot:

Oh... and I also use a Sharpmaker. I guess I could get back to you once my Apex kit comes in :D :D

I really don't consider myself sharpening challenged, and use a lot o different methods depending on the knife. I have a convex edge on the RW and I put a V on the FBM just to see how it would hold up. RW was done with sand paper and a mouse pad and the FBM on various wet stones by hand.

I was looking over the RW last night and the dings didn't look as bad as the night before and in no way will they effect anything I'll be doing with the knife, it just seems to me a little harder steel to work with, but I still love it.

Thanks for the replies

I find that SR-101 is easier to sharpen than INFI. The only INFI I have left that isn't for sale is my INFIcoot.
