I was watching a show last night called "Manswers" on Spike. They had an authentic samurai sword made by a Japanese master sword maker that they clamped into a vise, then proceeded to shoot the edge with a .357.
The edge sustained no damage whatsoever, and cut the projectile in half. That was pretty cool to see.
The narrator said the sword's steel was folded over something like 30,000 times during the forging and was laser sharp.
It seems to me I remember reading something about a person shooting their Busse with a revolver. I can't find anything on it though. But anyways, it made me wonder how a blade like the BM could stand up to being shot.
Note: They shot the edge only, they did not shoot the flat width of the blade.
