INFI vs M390

Considering M390 is designed for edge retention, I would say INFI for hard use. It's really not even a completion, the toughness of INFI is VASTLY greater than M390.

However, INFI is proprietary to Busse Knives so you're very limited in your choices there. I will also mention 3V for a hard use blade.

Yeah they aren't really comparable steels. M390 is stainless and has far superior edge retention. INFI is not stainless (though very resistant) and far, far tougher. Both are great steels in there own rights. Unless you plan on EDCing a Busse fixed blade INFI is out of the question. If you want a folder, there are a lot of options in M390. Neither steel will disappoint if you go in with the right expectations.

For hard use EDC the most readily available choices in folders are steels like M4, Elmax, Cruwear, even a few in 3V. In fixed blades you have a lot more choices but if I was looking for real hard use I would probably be looking for 3V. (And 3V is probably the closest to Infi.)
