Hey guys, I'm new here and I just scored my first infi knife in the memorialganzaaaaa. I'm super excited about it, but I had a really hard time picking the handles, and finally went with blue and black G10. This will NOT be a safe queen, I will definitely put it to use.

My question is, do you guys think the G10 will be okay for a hard use knife?

Thanks in advance guys.

Micarta is plenty tough for most uses, provided you are not beating on it with a hammer. G10 is supposedly stronger, IIRC. You won't hurt it, and if you do- send it back for repair!

Per the Busse site,

G-10 is a glass-based epoxy resin laminate. Production is similar to micarta, only instead of paper, linen, or canvas, layers of fiberglass cloth are soaked in epoxy resin. Again, heat and pressure are then used to bind the layers. G-10 is an electrical grade laminate that is lightweight, strong, and virtually impervious to moisture and climate issues. It has a high impact strength and resists cracking in even the most extreme conditions.

I've never seen anyone damage it without really trying to

I just received a swatmandu with tan/blank g10. It is the perfect amount of grip. Not to much to create a "hot spot", just enough to invoke confidence. You will not be disappointed.

The blue and black is my favorite g10 of all

I always go with Micarta on bigger blades but smaller stuff like an RMD, I go for looks. Blue/black is a very nice choice in my opinion. I grabbed 2 of those.

I went with green / black on my TG and Infimandu to match - can't wait to see them together. Tried for a Green/ Black trifecta with a MOABM but it wasn't meant to be.
